Tess, it was all a bunch of "9/11" rhetoric. The words were obnoxious enough, but Cruise's delivery was what made the speech a bulimic's delight. Cintra Wilson did an amazing job excoriating him, along with the entire Academy Awards presentation. Check out my post, which includes a link to her article.

Kim, believe me, I'm just as alarmed as you are! If you've read my past stuff, you know that he's the object of well-placed vitriol! In fact, I recently mentioned that I'm still waiting for him to die in a fiery auto-race crash. So forgive me for this brief transgression. I assure you that I haven't forgotten his opening speech at this year's Academy Awards. Arrogant, self-serving bastard.

(And by the way, I swear he was wearing lifts in his shoes. There is just no way he's only a few inches shorter than David Letterman.)

Didn't hate Tom Cruise??? Oh, Jodi! How could you! Tom Cruise is the most arrogant, self-important, stuck up, full of himself (yes, I know those all mean the same thing, I want to be sure I'm getting my point across) jerk who ever gained celebrity.
