Should I consider a name change for this site?
I'd prefer to keep it in the present tense, but I do like the intensity that the added word confers.
But what's in a fucking name, really, y'know?

Just remember not to try "Because Dan The Goose Says So". It seems to lack something in impact and thrust.
Offered by: The Real Don on July 6, 2002 2:39 AMMikaelah, how about "web site" or "site"? "Blog" sounds like something that is coughed up from lungs that are on the verge of collapse.
I am pleased, by the way, that my words are your addictive substance. They go just as nicely with a slice of lime as gin does, but without the calories and potential for embarrassment if you overindulge. Plus, my words don't affect your ability to drive. What more could a girl want?
Offered by: Jodi on July 5, 2002 1:26 PMI know how addicting those little coffee beans can be... so I will not give you the 23 cents ...and I am addicted to reading your stuff... so I know the problems addictions can cause... I doubt that dan could keep us all riveted ... but guesting does have a certain creative appeal... If you never refer to this space as a blog ... what are the other alternative names? I am very new to this form of writing ... and became hooked almost instantly. the term blog actually reeled me in as I was curious as to what it could possibly be ... words are one of my favorite toys... next to the dots... ... . ...
Offered by: mikaelah on July 5, 2002 1:20 PMMy mom's not quite 80, but doesn't look a day over 60. Really pisses me off, that I almost look older than my mom!
Offered by: JEfromCanada on July 5, 2002 12:07 PMThanks, JE! I've seen that before, but had forgotten about it.
I daresay I do a better "Jewish mother" voice than Irma's. Maybe that's because I have my very own Jewish mother on which to base it. (My mom's a hell of a lot cuter, though.)
Offered by: Jodi on July 5, 2002 11:18 AMIf you're asking for advice or opinions, I'd try Irma. I just found out about her today.
Offered by: JEfromCanada on July 5, 2002 11:06 AMThe name will remain the same. No additions. No subtractions. I already have the best of all worlds, anyway!
Offered by: Jodi on July 5, 2002 9:44 AMI say keep the present tense, but add that extra word. You'll have the best of both worlds. Don't fear change!
Offered by: Kim on July 5, 2002 9:42 AMMikaelah: Thanks! Can you spare 23 more cents, though? I need a quarter if I want to get a handful of those great chocolate-covered espresso beans out of the machine at "my" coffee place.
Dan: If you were ever to "guest-blog" here, I'd consider it for the duration of your stay. But then again, I will never use the word "blog" to refer to this place, so I'm afraid it's not gonna happen. Nice try, though.
Scott: I have never bowed to peer pressure, and now's not the time to start!
Offered by: Jodi on July 5, 2002 7:44 AMWhile there is a certain New York appeal to the new name idea, I'd stick with the one you have. Don't bow to the peer pressure.
Offered by: Scott on July 5, 2002 7:24 AMI think "Because Dan Says So" has a wonderful ring to it.
Offered by: Dan the Goose on July 5, 2002 3:38 AMI love your name... and your site! I think names mean alot...just my .02 ... I am addicted to the dots ... and exclamations ... but am saving them for a special occasion...
Offered by: mikaelah on July 4, 2002 10:04 PMdo you have a mac? Just wondering...
Offered by: Anita on July 4, 2002 8:22 PMI wasn't really considering a change!
I wonder, though, if the person who conducted that search was looking for me.
And someone else found this site by searching for the word "because". Nothin' like being specific, eh?
Offered by: Jodi on July 4, 2002 5:49 PMNahhh. Keep it. It suits you, dahhling.
