Am I the only person on the face of this or any other planet who didn't watch the MTV Video Music Awards last week, and who has no desire to watch no matter how many times I'm sure they'll rerun?
fresh-baked at 12:29 PMWell, I'm a hip and trendy kinda guy who's into real music - ie. non of this "miming to a tape shit" that Aguilera, Spears and most boy bands do.
I'm into musicians, not kareoke wannabes. Give me Coldplay, Starsailor, The White Stripes, The Cure, Radiohead, any day, of those phonies.
I didn't watch the VMA's because I was busy hikingin the mountains, starting at about 12,000ft.
And you know what? I'll take vigorous exercise, coupled with oxygen starvation ANY DAY over that VMA shite.
Offered by: Max on September 3, 2002 2:13 PMBut come on, people!! FUR EYEPATCHES!!
Offered by: aaron on September 3, 2002 8:51 AMI'm 19 years old and I feel old watching MTV.
So I guess I answered your question.
Offered by: Anita on September 2, 2002 12:23 AMIs MTV still on?
Offered by: Charlene on September 2, 2002 12:14 AMI refused and refuse. Though you can read about that jack-ass Eminem trying to thumb poor Moby at http://www.moby.com (weblog).
Offered by: Shawn on September 1, 2002 8:21 PMOh no, no no no. All I saw was the clip of Britney in bondage gear and Michael Jackson on the news. That was enough of a freak show for me. I never watch music videos, and am therefore totally removed from MTV/MuchMusic culture.
Offered by: Nancy on September 1, 2002 8:19 PMNope. I didn't. Something about listening to that horseshit makes me feel really old, thus I avoid it. I'm too young to be old. Feh.
Offered by: Jess on September 1, 2002 5:33 PMI didn't watch. Why bother?
Offered by: Joan on September 1, 2002 3:04 PMI'm a certified music expert and I didn't watch them.
Oh right, yes, actually, that sounds about right.
Ladies and Gentlemen, pop music is dead. Now go out and buy the Beta Band's album.
Offered by: Pete on September 1, 2002 2:41 PMI didnt watch it. Jimmy Fallon is cute, but not worth the torture of watching Christina Agulara prancing around in a piece of tissue, and hearing all the rappers. Not into it. Your not the only one. I like some of the music (white stripes, avril lavigne, sheryl crow, etc.) but Im not into all the hooplah that goes along with it:)
Offered by: Amanda on September 1, 2002 2:31 PMNo. I didn't watch it either. It would have appealed to me only as an amusing people-watching exercise. The phrase "no talent ass clowns" keeps ringing over and over in my head....
Offered by: Kelly on September 1, 2002 1:00 PMOK, I'll admit it. I didn't actually watch the VMA's. I visited the MTV web site one day later to see the OUTRAGEOUS fashions and caught up on all that happened the night before. I'm just a sham! *sob*
Offered by: JenBen on September 1, 2002 12:57 PMNo, your not alone. My music tastes are trapped in the 70's and 80's. I couldn't tell you a top ten song if my life depended on it. I've turned into an old geeser! (Which is fine with me.)
