If there's one thing I hate more than the holidays themselves, it's hearing this time of year referred to as "the holidays".
Oh, and I hate "Bah, humbug" too.
Feh. Kaka.
C'est tout.
Pour maintenant.
Good night.
fresh-baked at 11:35 PMSpeaking of Thanksgiving, I detest the moniker "Turkey Day" as well.

It's like we didn't even get to have Halloween. Now we're zipping on past Thanksgiving, too.

Offered by: Bah Humbug on November 25, 2002 11:20 AMToday, after a lovely break from the office mind you.....I walked into our building. Horrible.
Christmas trees! (multiple) Wreaths!
WTF?
I wanted to lay down on the floor and have a moment.
Offered by: deliah on November 25, 2002 11:08 AMThe problem is that only christmas and hannukah are really included in the phrase. I think that if it were a literal generic substitue for everything, it'd be okay to say it exactly once a year (say, november 30th at dusk). We could get christmas, hannukah, columbus day, valentines day, birthdays, and anniversaries out of the way all at once, and so no one would ever have to say "bah, humbug."
