Okay, so screw it, you should know that I am pretty much obsessed with David Cook from American Idol, so all of my considerable energy this evening is going toward drooling, flailing, frothing, twirling, and many other -ings while watching the finale. (Alone. But on the phone during commercials with both my mom and my boyfriend, separately, both of whom are also quite enamored of Mr. Cook.) This means that your obsession with me won't necessarily be fulfilled today by way of a few words describing something that annoys the hell out of me, and for that I apologize. Please feel free to have a party in my comments, though, if that helps at all.

Some may become angry -- a profound and smoldering anger that is both eternal and eternally deepening -- when I suggest that the platitudes of this tune leave me cold. I just believe that a song that is intended to be the grand finale of the competition could be perhaps a little less trite. You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I know that others will become enraged -- a rage that sears through men's souls with an unimaginable and unquantifiable heat and intensity -- when I suggest that the singing of this strange little troll of a boy does nothing for me whatsoever, and when I question whether he should even be in the final. So I will not question whether he should be there. Because, the way I see it, there's nowhere you can be that isn't where your meant to be. It's easy!
